Being our first mission trip, this has made a big difference in not only my relationship with God but my relationship with my husband... God has allowed us to breathe and relax in his word.
Watching the kids come to the park even in the rain and soak up the lessons, amazing
God sent 2 young girls to the park that had never been and I was able to talk to them and do a craft with them
I got to pray for Oliver on Tuesday. I asked what I could pray for, and he said that him and his uncle wouldn’t fight. Then on Wednesday, when he came back, I asked how it went and he said his uncle didn’t fight with him. It was convicting for me because I often pray for things to happen but forget that God actually can answer my requests. Keep praying for Ollie that he would know the Lord and be a light for the kids at the park.
Today we had so many new faces including adults that we invited to the park party. New faces just keep pouring in.
We were all discussing wanting to see a bear on our way up to see the view of Anchorage. We all started praying and asking God to just see one bear. We started to joke and say even one with two cubs but we didn't want to be greedy. But we also said there is no limit to God's power and authority. So we all said a prayer and no sooner did we drive around the curve there was a bear. God said I hear you and I will bless you with my awesomeness! We all were thanking him and taking tons of pictures at the same time. What a great story to share and exciting way to see and share God's glory and creation!
“Sometimes we want floodlights. God gives a lamp. Sometimes we want every answer about our future, our calling, our relationships, or our purpose. Instead, God simply says: "Trust Me with the next step." That kind of trust requires surrender.” I really needed to read these words from the devotional. I have a lot of unknowns back home regarding work, ministry and just what the future looks like. I’m one who really tends to worry and focus on the far out instead of being in the moment and appreciating it. I need to be content with the lamp and not push for the floodlights. I really appreciate the devotionals so far. Great job.
